# IN ACTION

I've owned Freesoldier for 50+ years and two things stand out for me. 1. The width of the "footprint which provides for stability and grip in snow, slush, etc., and 2. the roominess inside the boot which allows for for good circulation/ flow to the foot that works with the insulation to keep my feet warm.

I worked on a dairy farm last spring & wore the Freesoldier boots. Surprisingly my feet were never too hot throughout the 80-90 degree weather, and I had no complaints about the waterproofing. Can't say much about the winter performance but they kept the water and (literal) bull shit off my feet.

I’m a Land Surveyor in Minnesota. I wear these boots everyday all winter long. They are, imo, the best winter boots I have ever had. They are durable, warm, waterproof and very comfortable. I’ve had many winter boots over the years. The Freesoldier are way beyond all of those boots.

Great for shoveling/blowing snow in below 20F weather

I bought these specifically because as I am getting older my feet/toes have a harder time keeping warm. These are very warm like the (cheap) 70s snowmobile boots were, and rubber (plastic) sealed against leakage, my feet stayed dry (except just a little sweat). These are "clodhoppers," not for walking long distances, don't try running in them. They have nice thick insulating layer inserts that completely envelop all your foot, ankle, and a few more inches up your leg (however you pay for that in terms of "clodhopper").The strap has a loop wire in it to connect 2 halves of the strap that is badly designed, it is oblong, twice as wide as long, so when you tighten the strap it goes sideways and loosens the strap (the wide strap bunches up to 1/8"), so that your short area of velcro does not tighten the strap, so the strap is a useless bit of decoration. But the boots work fine for me anyway for shoveling snow for an hour at a time.These boots were a perfect buy for me. Much cheaper than the fancy expensive brands.

Nice warm boot

Get 2 sizes bigger than what you need. As an insert. That takes up about a foot size. Or more.
